Storage Guide

GPU Disk Retention

Keep your data between GPU sessions — no re-setup, no re-download

What is Disk Retention?

When your GPU instance expires, you can choose to preserve the disk instead of deleting everything. Your OS, models, datasets, and all files stay intact — only the GPU compute stops.

1

Instance Expires

GPU compute ends when your rental period is over.

2

Disk Preserved

Your data stays on disk. A small storage fee applies.

3

Recreate Anytime

Launch a new GPU instance with all your data intact.

Storage Cost

Disk retention is charged at a flat rate with no markup. You only pay for the storage hours you use.

$0.0001/GB/hour$0.0048/GB/day$0.144/GB/month
Disk SizeDaily CostMonthly Cost
200 GB$0.48$14.40
300 GB$0.72$21.60
500 GB$1.20$36.00
1000 GB$2.40$72.00

Storage fee starts when the instance expires and stops when you delete the disk or recreate an instance.

How to Use Disk Retention

1

Enable When Creating

Toggle "Retain Disk" ON when you create a new GPU instance. This tells the system to preserve your disk when the rental ends.

2

Instance Expires → Disk Retained

When your instance expires, compute stops but your disk enters retention mode. You'll see a purple "disk only" badge on your instance card.

3

Recreate or Delete

Click "Recreate Instance" to launch a new GPU with your data, or "Delete Disk" to stop billing and permanently remove data.

Recreating from Retained Disk

When you recreate an instance from a retained disk, here's what happens:

Same GPU model — your disk is bound to the original hardware spec

Same OS and image — your installed software and data are preserved

Choose new billing — pick a new billing cycle and duration

Instant data access — no need to re-download models or re-configure

Important Notes

Billing Continues

The storage fee runs continuously until you explicitly delete the disk or recreate an instance. Don't forget to clean up disks you no longer need.

GPU Model Locked

You cannot change the GPU model when recreating. The disk is tied to the original hardware specification.

Balance Required

If your account balance runs out, the disk will be auto-released after a grace period. Keep your balance topped up to avoid data loss.

Additional Disk Included

If you added extra disk storage while the instance was running, that additional space is also retained and included in the storage fee.
